CrookedVox Now Types While You Talk

CrookedVox used to work like this: hold the key, talk, let go, then wait a couple of seconds while the recording turned into text. Not a big deal, but you sat there waiting every time.

Now the text comes as you talk.

You start a sentence and the words are already on screen. You finish the thought and it’s basically written. Nothing to wait for at the end.

Sounds minor, but you dictate differently. You hear yourself say the wrong thing and fix it right there, instead of digging it out of a finished block of text later. It stops feeling like a voice message and starts feeling like typing.

Then there’s offline. It no longer cuts off at 25 seconds. Russian used to give you one short burst — enough for a message, not for an actual thought. Now talk as long as you want, and none of it leaves the machine.

The interface speaks Russian now. Menus, settings, labels, all of it. Long overdue: I mostly hand this app to friends, and dictating in Russian into English menus always looked a bit off.

And updates. CrookedVox notices a new version came out and offers to install it. You still have to say yes, it won’t do anything behind your back, but that’s the end of it. No going to the site, no downloading an installer, no trying to remember which version you’re on.

The rest is unchanged: hold a key, talk, get text. Then run it through AI if you need to — fix it, shorten it, say it another way.
